Baseball Recap: Durham Has No Trouble Against Paradise

Durham had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Paradise Bobcats 10-3 on Friday. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.

Joden Hoglund looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Jack Stephens was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Brady Doyle was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Durham is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Paradise, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Coming up, Durham will square off against University Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Paradise does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
