Poyen is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Mineral Springs is on a eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Poyen Indians will take on the Mineral Springs Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Poyen made easy work of Dierks and carried off a 36-16 win.
Kevin Freeman was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 162 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Brayden Hull, who picked up 51 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Mineral Springs at home against Mount Ida on Friday as the squad secured a 52-13 win.
Their wins bumped Poyen to 5-4 and Mineral Springs to 8-0.
Poyen took a serious blow against Mineral Springs when the teams last played back in October of 2022, falling 50-6. Will Poyen have more luck at home instead of on the road?
