Video: James Cook vs. Bishop GormanElite running back prospect got to the house twice against nationally-ranked Gaels.
Defending national champion Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas)
is in unfamiliar territory after a 24-20 home loss to Central (Miami)
on Friday night.
The Gaels, ranked No. 6 nationally by MaxPreps this week, have lost two in a row for the first time since September of 2005 following Friday night's result coupled with last week's setback against No. 1 Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.)
Prior to that, Gorman (1-2) had won 55 games in a row and hadn't lost multiple contests in a season since 2013.
Facing adversity with family members at home staring down Hurricane Irma, Central (2-0) received 199 yards and two touchdowns from star running back James Cook
Weather was a factor in Las Vegas, as well, as kickoff and the ESPNU broadcast was pushed back nearly an hour due to lightning in the area.
