The Tipton Blue Devils are taking a road trip to face off against the Taylor Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Taylor took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Tipton, who comes in off a win.
Tipton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Oak Hill on Thursday. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Golden Eagles. The game was the first time the Blue Devils have beaten the Golden Eagles on their field since April 30, 2018.

Jacoby DeFoe was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Tipton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 6-15 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Nick Nasser was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Coe, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Tipton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Taylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Clinton Central.
Tipton's record now sits at 8-16. As for Taylor, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.
Everything went Tipton's way against Taylor when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Tipton made off with a 6-0 win. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
