The Hemingford Bobcats lost against the Edgemont Moguls back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Hemingford took a hard 38-24 fall against Edgemont. While losing is never fun, Hemingford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 266th in Nebraska, while Edgemont is ranked 92nd in South Dakota).
Edgemont's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hadley Hollenbeck led the charge by scoring ten points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Hollenbeck hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Tavian Urban, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Hemingford and nudges their season record down to 1-12. As for Edgemont, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-5.
Hemingford will head out on the road to challenge Crawford on Tuesday. Edgemont on the road again on Friday and play against Morrill at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th.
