Platteview is a perfect 9-0 against Ralston since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Trojans will host the Rams at 5:30 p.m. Platteview will be strutting in after a win while Ralston will be coming in after a loss.
The home team had won the previous six meetings between Platteview and Duchesne, and Platteview kept the tradition alive. The Trojans secured a 51-45 W over the Cardinals on Tuesday.
Platteview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kady Vanosdall, who shot 50% from the field en route to 15 points and five assists. Maddy Stukenholtz was another key player, putting up 15 points and five steals.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Platteview was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They are 11-3 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, Ralston played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Mercy, falling 52-13. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Monarchs recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Platteview will need to focus on slowing down Addie Aude, one of several Ralston players who made an impact when they last played. She posted seven points along with six boards and four steals. That was a full 53.8% of Ralston's points, marking the fifth time in a row Aude has scored more than a third of the team's points.
Platteview's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Ralston, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Platteview has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Ralston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 25.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Platteview against Ralston in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, as the squad secured a 55-17 win. In that game, the Trojans amassed a halftime lead of 41-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Thursday.
