Sacramento is 10-0 against El Camino since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sacramento Dragons will play host again and welcome the El Camino Eagles, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Sacramento was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 51-46 to Rio Americano. Sacramento has not had much luck with Rio Americano recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Sacramento got a solid performance out of La ne Dunn, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. That was a full 50% of Sacramento's points, marking the 13th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ne'veah Curtis, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
El Camino suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Christian Brothers at home and fell 61-17. While losing is never fun, El Camino can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 640th, while Christian Brothers is ranked 102nd).
Sacramento has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for El Camino, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-11.
Sacramento won a match that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, slipping by El Camino 37-36. Will Sacramento repeat their success, or does El Camino have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
