Baseball Recap: University Has No Trouble Against Fairfax

It was a proper cat-fight when University took on Fairfax on Wednesday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Lions. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 11-0 victory back in February.

Jacob Santos made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. University is 4-2 when Santos posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Anthony Moller was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Han, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

University always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairfax only posted an OBP of .235.

University's record now sits at 8-12. As for Fairfax, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

University wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 12-5 defeat against Palisades on the 28th. As for Fairfax, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-2 loss against Los Angeles CES on the 25th.
