ROGERS, Minn. - After four lead changes,
Rogers (Minn.) took the lead for good when they scored a touchdown with 5:00 left in the second quarter and held on to defeat Elk River (Minn.) 52-14 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown in the second quarter, the Royals led 24-14 at the half.
Rogers expanded its lead to 38 points entering the fourth quarter. RHS scored four times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Nate Weber.
Gunnar Bloom and Weber ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Elks. Bloom scored four touchdowns on the ground and Weber added three as well.
The Royals had given up an average of 17.5 points prior to the contest.
