The Surry Central Golden Eagles stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by West Wilkes at home to the tune of 83-50. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-25.
Surry Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ayden Wilmoth led the charge by scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Wilmoth hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Tripp Mcmillen was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Surry Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for West Wilkes, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-13.
Surry Central will face off against Wilkes Central at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for West Wilkes, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Forbush at 8:00 p.m. Forbush is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
