
J.P. Crawford and Lakewood are the next team that will get a crack at Mater Dei, as both teams have advanced in the Boras Classic.

After struggling for a win in their opener of the Boras Classic southern regional Tuesday, it was back to business as usual for
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) in an 8-2 win over
Santiago (Corona, Calif.) on Wednesday.
The Monarchs scored in the first inning and then opened up with five runs in the third to put the Sharks away early. Santiago got its only two runs in the top of the seventh.
Ryan McMahon had a huge day for the Monarchs, going 4-for-4 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs.
Brian Soper also provided some timely hitting with a double and three RBIs.
Jeremy Martinez also had two RBIs while
Tyler Adkison added a double.
Three Monarchs took the mound with
Aaron Cross getting the win. He did not allow a run, gave up four hits and struck out seven.
Mater Dei advances to today's semifinal matchup with Lakewood at 6 p.m. at Mater Dei High School. Oaks Christian plays JSerra Catholic in the other semifinal at 6 p.m. at JSerra Catholic High School. Other game times are listed at the end of this article.

Casey Worden had a three-run homer in the third inning to help lift JSerra Catholic.
Dane McFarland was 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored for the winners while
Parker Joe Robinson went seven innings and gave up two runs on five hits with five strikeouts to get the win.

Phillip Bickford went the distance for Oaks Christian, giving up one run on five hits with six strikeouts. El Toro's
Ryan Kayoda was nearly equal to the task as he gave up two runs, neither earned, on five hits with nine strikeouts.
Brandon Evans was 3-for-3 with a double for the winners.
Lakewood (Calif.) 10, Great Oak (Temecula, Calif.) 1
Lakewood broke the game open in the second inning with five runs to advance to the semifinals.
Jonathan Pasillas was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and
Andrew Mendoza was 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the winners.
Canyon (Anaheim, Calif.) 4, Loyola (Los Angeles) 3
Canyon scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to edge Loyola.
Josh Balbuena and
Cole Garcia each had two hits for the winners with Garcia hitting a double and knocking in two runs.
Mario Losi got the win, giving up three runs on six hits with eight strikeouts.
Chaminade (West Hills, Calif.) 2, Vista Murrieta (Murrieta, Calif.) 1
Myles Hager singled to center field in the bottom of the seventh to drive in the winning run.
Kevin Victoria was 3-for-3 with a double for the winners while Hager was 2-for-4.
Chad Gubicza got the win, giving up one run on two hits with three strikeouts.

Nick Milone and Caleb Bae combined for a six-hit shutout in the Chancellors' win over Hart. Milone went six innings, striking out six, to get the win.
Chris Devito had a home run and
Sam Shaikin was 3-for-3 for Chatsworth.
Bishop Amat (La Puente, Calif.) 5, El Camino Real (Woodland Hills, Calif.) 2
Adam Alcantara was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to lead Bishop Amat in a consolation bracket win.
Alex Garcia got the win, going five innings and giving up two runs on two hits with six strikeouts.
Other matchups find El Toro playing West Ranch in the fifth place
bracket at 3 p.m. at JSerra. Great Oak plays Santiago in the other fifth
place bracket matchup at 3 p.m. at Mater Dei.
In the consolation
bracket, Chaminade plays Bishop Amat in the semifinals at noon at
JSerra while Canyon takes on Chatsworth in the other consolation final
at noon at Mater Dei.
In the 13th place bracket, Vista Murrieta plays El Camino Real at 9 a.m. at JSerra and Loyola plays Hart at 9 a.m. at Mater Dei.
