Freedom Christian Academy is 8-1-1 against Faith Christian since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Freedom Christian Academy's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Fayetteville Christian with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Rylan Miller and KK Swinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Miller pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Swinson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Miller has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in nine consecutive appearances. At the plate, Miller got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one double, while Swinson went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That triple marked the first that Miller hit this season.
In other batting news, Genesis Lebron and Victoria Bryant did most of the damage at the plate: Lebron scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Bryant went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Lebron also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Multerer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Faith Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Harrells Christian Academy on Tuesday and fell 6-5.
Skylar Powers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Whitley, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Freedom Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Faith Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Freedom Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. However, it's not like Faith Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .343. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Freedom Christian Academy took their win against Faith Christian in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for Freedom Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
