For the first time this season, Sage Hill will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Wednesday. They will host the Woodbridge Warriors at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Sage Hill 3.5, Woodbridge 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Sage Hill's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over Chadwick. That looming 9-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lightning yet this season.
Evan Stroner was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Woodbridge's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sage Hill has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .455. It's a different story for Woodbridge, though, as they've only averaged .359. Will they be able to contain Sage Hill's hitters?
Sage Hill couldn't quite get it done against Woodbridge in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can Sage Hill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
