Resurrection Christian has gone 6-1 against Platte Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. Resurrection Christian fell victim to Brush and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Beetdiggers, falling 10-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Cougars were not able to get on the board.
Platte Valley hadn't beaten Valley on the road since September 13, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Broncos blew past the Vikings 11-4. Considering the Broncos have won six contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Alyssa Kendrick spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Platte Valley let Haylee Bauer and Landree Edstrom run wild. Bauer went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Edstrom went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Bauer has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sydney Meyer, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Platte Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Platte Valley now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Resurrection Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Everything went Resurrection Christian's way against Platte Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Resurrection Christian made off with a 20-0 win.
