There's no place like home for the Junction City Dragons, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Thursday. They took down Lafayette County 71-56 on Monday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Junction City's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Deontae James, who scored 17 points along with five assists and four steals. The game was James' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylon Owens, who scored 18 points.
Junction City's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Lafayette County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Junction City won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Star City at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Lafayette County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bradley at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
