Despite their defeat, Lick-Wilmerding saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Amaya Tavu, who scored 15 points along with three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Lauryn Lacap was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Convent of the Sacred Heart's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 34-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of Marin Academy. While losing is never fun, Convent of the Sacred Heart can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1044th, while Marin Academy is ranked 455th).
Lick-Wilmerding's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Convent of the Sacred Heart, they dropped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Lick-Wilmerding against Convent of the Sacred Heart when the teams last played on January 3rd as the team secured a 57-11 win. With Lick-Wilmerding ahead 29-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
