The Ayala Bulldogs will face off against the Ocean View Seahawks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ayala has six straight wins, Ocean View has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, Ayala got the win against Diamond Bar by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Jaden Valenzuela made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Ayala's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-6 when he doesn't).
In other pitching news, Jayden Kim looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Codey Brown and Dylan Wood did most of the damage at the plate: Brown got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and two runs, while Wood went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave Wood a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aidan Erlandsen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
Ayala was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Diamond Bar only posted a batting average of .045.
Meanwhile, Ocean View didn't have quite enough to beat Cerritos on Friday and fell 2-1.
Ayala's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Ocean View, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
Ayala skirted past Ocean View 4-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Seahawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
