The Brea Olinda Wildcats fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They managed a 52-46 victory over El Dorado on Tuesday. The win was all the more spectacular given Brea Olinda's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while El Dorado is ranked 92nd).
Brea Olinda's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Liz Han, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Maya Sanborn, who scored 13 points.
Brea Olinda's win bumped their record up to 9-16. As for El Dorado, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brea Olinda will take on Esperanza at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for El Dorado, they will be playing at home against El Modena at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. El Modena comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
