The Central Hawks were the 83-80 winner over the Taylor County Vikings when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Joshua Seldon and Demarcus White certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Seldon dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, while White scored 19 points. White continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Brayden Ellison was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points for Taylor County. The team also got some help courtesy of Little Marqualin, who scored eight points.
Central has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Taylor County, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Marion County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Marion County is ranked 411th, while Central is ranked 404th). As for Taylor County, they will head out on the road to square off against Greenville at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Greenville has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Taylor County will arrive with three straight wins.
