The Shikellamy Braves will be playing at home against the Warrior Run Defenders at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Shikellamy will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, a fact Shikellamy proved on Saturday. They came out on top against Jersey Shore by a score of 64-54.
Shikellamy can attribute much of their success to Lily Fatool, who scored 24 points along with five assists and two steals, and Blaire Balestrini, who scored 19 points along with six assists and four steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Fatool has scored at least a third of Shikellamy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kianah Lenner, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Warrior Run suffered a tough 43-22 loss at the hands of Shamokin Area on Wednesday. Warrior Run has struggled against Shamokin Area recently, as their match on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Shikellamy has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. As for Warrior Run, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Shikellamy took their victory against Warrior Run in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 60-40. Will Shikellamy repeat their success, or does Warrior Run have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
