The Helix Highlanders won the last time they faced the Granite Hills Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. Helix managed a 41-36 victory over Granite Hills. The team accrued 31 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.
Helix got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mykhaila Clark out in front who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals. Valerie Marquez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 13 rebounds.
Granite Hills lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Delaney Fry, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Yakob, who scored nine points.
Helix's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Granite Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
Helix won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Victory Christian Academy at 1:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Helix is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season. As for Granite Hills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Miguel at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount Miguel is coming into the matchup with eight straight defeats on the road, meaning Granite Hills will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
