The High Tech SD Storm will face off against the Crawford Colts at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. High Tech SD knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Crawford likes a good challenge.
On Friday, High Tech SD got the win against Hoover by a conclusive 11-5. The victory continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won nine in a row.

Xavier Johnson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Izo Kobayashi and Julian Acevedo did most of the damage at the plate: Kobayashi went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Acevedo went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave Kobayashi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zach Fletcher, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
High Tech SD kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Crawford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They never let Canyon Hills get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Abbel Martinez was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Crawford is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-13-1 otherwise. Martinez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Martinez wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Valdez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
High Tech SD's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Crawford, their win bumped their record up to 8-14-1.
Crawford's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: High Tech SD has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9 hits per game. It's a different story for Crawford, though, as they've been averaging 10 hits. Given High Tech SD's sizable advantage in that area, the Colts will need to find a way to close that gap.
High Tech SD got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2025 against Crawford by a conclusive 13-2 score. Do the Storm have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
