Westside is 1-9 against Grovetown since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Patriots will head out to face off against the Warriors at 5:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
On Tuesday, Westside got the win against Baldwin by a conclusive 15-1.

Travis Goudy looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Westside: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 7-14 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Justin Lampkin and Ethan Collins did most of the damage at the plate: Lampkin went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Collins went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and three RBI. Lampkin is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Smith, who earned one RBI, three runs, and two stolen bases.
Westside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .526 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Grovetown made easy work of Rockdale County on Tuesday and carried off a 17-1 win. That looming 17-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.
Boston Rowan was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Rowan was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Powell, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Jake Maldonado was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Westside's record is now 9-15. As for Grovetown, their record now sits at 17-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Westside has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Grovetown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Westside suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Grovetown when the teams last played back in February. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
