Chris Alcaraz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Alexis Urquidez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andres Macuga, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Borrego Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ocean View Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Vincent Memorial a 1-0 shutout on Friday.
Borrego Springs' victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Ocean View Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
