Basketball Game Preview: West Campus Warriors vs. Armijo Royals

The West Campus Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Armijo Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. West Campus will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.

If West Campus beats Armijo with 64 points on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. West Campus took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 64-19 win over Valley. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 23 points or more this season.

West Campus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Esabel Otsuji, who went 10 of 15 on her way to 20 points and six rebounds. Otsuji's evening made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Loismary Justice, who went 7 for 10 en route to 16 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Armijo played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Benicia and fell 69-31. The Royals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-12.

West Campus pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.2 points over those games. As for Armijo, their loss dropped their record down to 6-12.

Everything came up roses for West Campus against Armijo when the teams last played back in January, as the team secured a 77-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Campus since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
