Imperial has gone a perfect 10-0 against Central recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Imperial is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.
Imperial fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Brawley on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-5.

Ayden Avila was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run.
In other batting news, Ares Velarde made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Trey Ruiz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Central hadn't done well against Holtville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Spartans came out on top against the Vikings by a score of 10-7.
Like Imperial, Central also got a great game from a two-way player: Freddy Terrazas. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Terrazas also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Central is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-13-1 otherwise. Terrazas was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on David Madero, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Angel Carrillo, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.
Imperial's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Central, their record now sits at 9-13-1.
Imperial skirted past Central 4-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
