Softball Recap: Bennett Has No Trouble Against Holyoke

Bennett won the last time they faced Holyoke and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers blew past the Dragons 18-6. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won five matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Bennett got a massive performance out of Jagoda Gutowska, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. Those five RBI gave Gutowska a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grace Mathis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI.

Bennett hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.

The victory got Bennett back to even at 7-7. As for Holyoke, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bennett will challenge Platte Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Holyoke, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Platte Valley at 10:00 a.m. on the 27th.
