The Cypress Park Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 11th straight loss. They were dealt a 97-32 defeat at the hands of Cypress Springs. Cypress Park has struggled against Cypress Springs recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Makayla Hill, who scored six points.
Cypress Park struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Cypress Springs pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Cypress Springs was led to victory by Ayla Mcdowell and Jemini Mitchell. Mcdowell scored 22 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Mitchell scored 21 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Mcdowell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Ma'riya Vincent was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with two steals.
Cypress Park dropped their record down to 3-17 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Cypress Springs, the victory (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 21-2.
Cypress Park will be playing in front of their home fans against Bridgeland at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bridgeland presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cypress Park in Texas (Bridgeland is ranked 294th, while Cypress Park is ranked 921st). As for Cypress Springs, they will head out on the road to face off against Cypress Ranch at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Cypress Ranch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
