The Smethport Hubbers had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 43-21 margin over East Forest/West Forest. The victory was just what Smethport needed coming off of a 62-34 defeat in their prior matchup.
Elizabeth Hungiville was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 20 points, 17 rebounds, and 10 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Smethport's points. Payton Neff was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Smethport's victory bumped their record up to 1-3. As for East Forest/West Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Smethport will be playing at home against Port Allegany at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Port Allegany focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday. As for East Forest/West Forest, they will head out on the road to face off against Brockway at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
