Carlisle hasn't had much luck against Palmyra recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bison will face off against the Cougars at 4:15 p.m. Carlisle has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Carlisle lost 16-4 to Gettysburg on Tuesday.
Carlisle saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bradyn Sober, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Ryan Black was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Palmyra was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They blew past Bishop McDevitt 12-5. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Logan Kriner looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Aiden Willard was incredible, firing off two home runs, four RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Meley, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three doubles.
Palmyra kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop McDevitt only managed four.
Palmyra's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Carlisle, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.
Carlisle might still be hurting after the 17-4 loss they got from Palmyra in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Bison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
