Baseball Game Preview: Millikan Rams vs. Compton Tarbabes

Millikan has gone a perfect 10-0 against Compton recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rams will welcome the Tarbabes at 4:00 p.m. Millikan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Millikan's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Trabuco Hills by a score of 4-0.

The result came thanks to Thomas Ramsey's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

At the plate, Millikan let Adrian Ramirez and Matthew Ness run wild. Ramirez went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Ness went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Ness has posted since back in February.

Meanwhile, Compton fell victim to Long Beach Poly and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jackrabbits.

Millikan is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Compton, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Millikan has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Compton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
