Eunice is 9-1 against Dexter since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cardinals will be playing at home against the Demons at 6:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Eunice has 20 straight wins, Dexter has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Eunice made easy work of Texico and carried off a 14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won 13 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Isaac Melancon and Julian De Leon made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Melancon pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, De Leon struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. At bat, Melancon earned two runs and two stolen bases, while De Leon went 3-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luis Zamora, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adan Baeza, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs.
Eunice was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Texico only posted a batting average of .190.
Meanwhile, while it was Dexter who put the first runs on the board on Tuesday, it was New Mexico Military Institute who put up more. The Demons came up short against the Colts, falling 15-2.
Eunice's win bumped their record up to 20-1. As for Dexter, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.
Eunice got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 against Dexter by a conclusive 15-0 score. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Demons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
