It was a good run, but Edmund Burke Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 4-1 to the Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars. The Spartans were red-hot at the plate heading into the contest (they scored no less than ten runs in the seven games prior), but the Jaguars' pitchers proved too tough.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 10-2. As for Thomas Jefferson Academy, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Edmund Burke Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Augusta Prep Day at 4:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Thomas Jefferson Academy, they will head out to square off against Trinity Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Crusaders will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight.
