Penns Valley Area found their leader in underclassman Ellie Romig, who scored 20 points along with 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Scotty Dinges was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 9 steals and 6 assists.
Mount Union's lost on Monday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Payton Williams, who scored 6 points. Another player making a difference was Cailyn Skopic, who scored 6 points.
The victory got Penns Valley Area back to even at 1-1. As for Mount Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Penns Valley Area will head out on the road to face off against Tyrone at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mount Union, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Claysburg-Kimmel at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Claysburg-Kimmel focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday.
