If the First Baptist Academy Eagles were riding high off their 57-28 takedown of the Austin Waldorf Roadrunners last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. First Baptist Academy was the victim of a tough 72-46 loss at the hands of John Paul II on Friday. First Baptist Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as John Paul II apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2015.
First Baptist Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Timothy De La Rosa and Deatrick Casablanca. De La Rosa scored 16 points, while Casablanca scored 15 points. The game was De La Rosa's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Roberson, who scored six points.
First Baptist Academy now has a losing record at 6-7. As for John Paul II, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-10.
First Baptist Academy will head out on the road to face off against Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for John Paul II, they will be playing at home against Veritas Academy on Friday.
