Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sprayberry). They came out on top against the Campbell Spartans by a score of 13-10 on Wednesday. Sprayberry got a massive performance out of Jordan Simpson, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Simpson has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Shona Bowen, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.
Sprayberry hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Campbell struck out six times.
Sprayberry now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Campbell, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
Sprayberry and Campbell will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Yellow Jackets are set to challenge their familiar foe River Ridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Campbell will face off against rival McEachern at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
