They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Merion Mercy Academy Golden Bears at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Merion Mercy Academy took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Collegium Charter, who comes in off a win.
On Monday, Collegium Charter beat the Drakes 36-29.
It was another big night for Kori Beasley, who scored 17 points along with five steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nasira Towles, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, Merion Mercy Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 48-19 loss at the hands of Gwynedd Mercy Academy. While losing is never fun, Merion Mercy Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 517th, while the Monarchs are ranked 46th).
Collegium Charter has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. As for Merion Mercy Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.
Collegium Charter was dealt a bruising 60-33 defeat at the hands of the Golden Bears in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Collegium Charter avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
