The Chartiers Valley Colts waltzed into their matchup on Monday with two straight wins but they left with three. They had just enough and edged Canon-McMillan out 41-38. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Chartiers Valley has scored all season.
Among those leading the charge was Emma Reynolds, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Rachel Boehm, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Canon-McMillan lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nadia Davis, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Lauren Borella was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Chartiers Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Canon-McMillan, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Bethel Park the next time they take the court. Chartiers Valley will host Bethel Park at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Canon-McMillan will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
