They secured a 48-43 W over King/Drew. Given Orangewood Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Orangewood Academy found their leader in underclassman Vivian Grenald, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Ndeye Astou Ndiaye, who scored seven points.
Orangewood Academy's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for King/Drew, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Orangewood Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Brentwood School is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season. As for King/Drew, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m.
