The Frazier Commodores lost against the Monessen Greyhounds back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Frazier took a 46-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monessen. Frazier has not had much luck with Monessen recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Frazier's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Allie Yauch, who scored 15 points along with four steals, and Chloe Harger who scored ten points along with six rebounds and five steals. Yauch hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games.
Monessen's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avanti Stitch, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stitch has scored all season. Hailey Johnson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 18 rebounds and three steals.
Frazier has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Monessen, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Frazier will head out on the road to square off against Chartiers-Houston at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chartiers-Houston presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Frazier in Pennsylvania (Chartiers-Houston is ranked 253rd, while Frazier is ranked 581st). As for Monessen, they will be playing at home against West Greene at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
