The Franklin Knights lost against the Erie Royals back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Franklin fell just short of Erie by a score of 34-32. Franklin has struggled against Erie recently, as their game on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katie Boal, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and three blocks. Boal is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Jennifer Blum was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Erie was led to victory by Deaja Williams and Draya Neavins. Williams scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Neavins scored 17 points along with four steals. The matchup was Neavins' third in a row with at least ten points.
Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Erie, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Franklin will head out on the road to face off against Warren at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Erie will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cathedral Prep at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th.
