The East Nicolaus Spartans were the 46-26 winner over the Pierce Bears when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. East Nicolaus took a 42-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pierce.
Makinze Massey and Kaylyn Ponce certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Massey scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, while Ponce scored four points along with two steals.
East Nicolaus' defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8. As for Pierce, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Nicolaus will take on Durham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Payton Santos and Rylee Gillespie. As for Pierce, they will play host again and welcome Winters, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
