West Campus and Florin are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. West Campus will head out to take on Florin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (West Campus has three straight victories, Florin has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, West Campus got the win against Johnson by a conclusive 15-7. Considering West Campus has won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

West Campus let Maxton Creeger and Jonah Lee run wild. Creeger scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Lee went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those five stolen bases gave Creeger a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Gilson, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: West Campus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Florin came up short against Valley last Tuesday, falling 13-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered against the Vikings since April 29, 2021.
Florin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elias Toney-Vasquez, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. That hit marked the first that Toney-Vasquez got this season.
Florin's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for West Campus, their record is now 8-5.
Florin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Campus has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. It's a different story for Florin, though, as they've only averaged .292. Will they be able to contain West Campus' hitters?
West Campus couldn't quite get it done against Florin in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-2. Can West Campus avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
