The South Mecklenburg Sabres put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Community School of Davidson 79-44 on the road. The score was close at the half, but South Mecklenburg pulled away in the second half with 53 points.
Peter Moye continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 29 points along with eight rebounds. The match was his 13th in a row with at least ten points. Anderson Skelton was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Community School of Davidson's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dermot Lowry, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Darrell Williams, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
South Mecklenburg's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Community School of Davidson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Mecklenburg will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Richmond at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Community School of Davidson and Bradford Prep will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Bradford Prep is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
