Maxwell got themselves on the board against Willows on Wednesday, but Willows never followed suit. They blew past the Honkers 6-0. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Wyatt Roach's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Maxwell's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Massey Baker, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Brody Jones was another, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Maxwell has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Willows, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.

Maxwell has already played their next game, a 7-3 loss against Hamilton on the 9th. As for Willows, they will take on East Nicolaus at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Honkers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
