Capuchino and Sequoia are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Mustangs will take on the Ravens at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Capuchino will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
On Friday, Capuchino beat Hillsdale 5-1.
Bobby Gomez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, Capuchino got a big performance out of Andres Gomez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. The Mustangs are 9-1 when Gomez posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Yulio Ceron was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Capuchino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in seven consecutive contests.
Sequoia came out on top against Aragon on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fifth inning. The Ravens put the hurt on the Dons with a sharp 15-5 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Ravens, who have now won four matchups in a row.
Cameron Abrams was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Logan Mathias was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Ostrander, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Capuchino pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sequoia, their record now sits at 13-9.
