Logan View/Scribner-Snyder are taking a road trip to take on the Fort Calhoun Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
On Tuesday, Logan View/Scribner-Snyder came up short against Cass and fell 10-6.
Arienne Summers and Rachel Purvis stepped up to the plate in a big way. Summers went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Purvis went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Avah Ruwe, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Fort Calhoun had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over Highway 91. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Kayla Kratz made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last 11 contests.
In other batting news, Dehlia Hallberg was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Madilyn Larrick, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Fort Calhoun hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 11 consecutive matchups.
Logan View/Scribner-Snyder's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Fort Calhoun, their record now sits at 14-5.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Logan View/Scribner-Snyder hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .345. However, it's not like Fort Calhoun struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
