Carson Mcdonald continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 164 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries, while also throwing for 114 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Bryson Plock, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to McCool Junction's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Dylan Gonnerman with two. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, McCool Junction was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 305 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heartland only rushed for 92.
Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for McCool Junction, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
