Volleyball Recap: South Lakes Starts Season with Victory Against Wakefield + How To Watch

South Lakes gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Wakefield Warriors. For the Seahawks, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2022.

South Lakes had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-17, 25-17, 25-14.

Leading South Lakes to victory were Keira McManus and Ilana Collingham. McManus had 29 digs and five aces, while Collingham had six digs and two aces.

South Lakes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Herndon on the 27th. As for Wakefield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Chantilly on the 27th.
