The McClymonds Warriors celebrated an undefeated season on the field in 2014, but an ineligible player and a failed appeal to the courts system prevented the Oakland team from advancing to the NorCal Regional Playoffs for the third-straight season.
Instead, McClymonds stayed home while Central Catholic (Modesto) and Capital Christian (Sacramento) advanced to the Division IV NorCal Regional with Central Catholic advancing to the CIF Division IV Bowl Game.

While the season ended in disappointment for the Warriors, the overall play of standout running back Lavance Warren was a positive all season long. In rushing for 2,316 yards and 30 touchdowns on the year, Warren was named the Player of the Year by the San Francisco Chronicle for the entire Bay Area.
As a result, Warren has also been chosen by MaxPreps as the California Division IV State Player of the Year.
Roger Canepa of Central Catholic lands the honor of Division IV Coach of the Year. The winner of three straight CIF Division IV Bowl Games, Canepa led the Raiders to a 31-19 win over St. Margaret's (San Juan Capistrano) in this year's bowl game. Canepa's teams won each of the three bowl games by at least two touchdowns.
Since taking over at Central Catholic in 2008 following the retirement of Michael Glines, Canepa has posted a record of 80-18 with three straight Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV championships to go along with the three bowl wins.
Members of the California Division IV All-State Teams are made up of players who compete for schools with enrollments under 500.
